Instinct, an AI assistant valued at $2.5 billion, has introduced a new feature providing users with dedicated Instinct email addresses. According to founder Noah Shinn, this allows the AI to create and manage accounts on behalf of users, handling tasks such as signing up for services, contacting businesses, and following up on issues without cluttering users’ personal inboxes. Shinn highlighted examples where Instinct could use its email to manage restaurant reservations, inquire about business availability, or complete sign-ups, streamlining the user experience by reducing the need for manual intervention.
The introduction of Instinct email addresses aims to enhance the assistant’s autonomy and efficiency. Users can forward relevant emails, such as order confirmations for product returns, to Instinct’s address, enabling the AI to interact with customer support and manage tasks independently. Additionally, Instinct’s email can be included in group threads to track information exchanges and assist with decision-making or task management. While this feature promises a more seamless user experience, it may introduce a layer of obscurity for businesses interacting with customers, potentially altering traditional customer relationship dynamics. This update follows other recent enhancements, including partnerships with 1Password for account logins and Stripe for payment processing, further expanding Instinct’s capabilities.
