Apple has introduced a new feature called Siri Recap for the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, which utilizes ambient listening to generate high-level notes from conversations. According to the company, Apple Intelligence automatically creates a title, summary, and key points from the conversation, which can be reviewed in the Siri app. Users have the option to keep the feature always on, set a schedule, or turn it off completely.
In addition to Siri Recap, Apple unveiled other audio intelligence features for the Apple Watch, including Shazam for instant song identification, recognition of loud sounds such as sirens or a baby crying, and Live Rewind, which allows users to recap 15 seconds of conversation by double-pressing the digital crown. Apple emphasizes that these features do not store recordings, and raw audio is inaccessible. However, the always-listening nature of Siri Recap may still raise privacy concerns, as it could potentially capture sensitive information in its summaries.
