Google has launched conversational AI features—dubbed Docs Live, Gmail Live, and Keep Live—within its productivity suite of Docs, Gmail, and Keep. These features enable users to interact with their inboxes and documents using natural-language queries and dictation. In Gmail, users can pose questions to a Gemini-powered AI assistant about the contents of their inbox, with a live transcript displayed during the interaction. In Docs, the AI assistant can generate a first draft based on user descriptions and gather information from Gmail, Drive, chat, and the web to assist in drafting. Keep Live functions as a voice-activated scratchpad, capable of compiling notes, recipes, and lists upon user request.
The availability of these features is tiered across Google’s subscription plans: Gmail Live is accessible to Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra customers, while Docs Live and Keep Live are available to Google AI Pro and Ultra users. All features will initially launch in English on iOS and Android platforms, with a subsequent rollout to Workplace Business customers. This launch follows Google’s recent pattern of integrating voice-based functionalities across its applications, including cross-app dictation in its Mac app, the Gemini-powered Rambler dictation tool on Pixel 11 smartphones, and the introduction of the Gemini 3.5 Transcribe model for speech-to-text applications.
