Anthropic has released Fable and Mythos 5.1, the latest versions of its most advanced AI models. The new Fable release, in addition to performance enhancements, aims to reduce token costs and minimize false-positive restrictions from the model’s safeguards. While Mythos 5.1 remains restricted to registered Anthropic partners involved in cybersecurity or life sciences research, Fable 5.1 is now available to the public through cloud platforms or the Anthropic API.
A significant update with this release is Anthropic’s adoption of zero data retention, enabling clients to run Anthropic models on their own infrastructure without data outflows. This high-privacy service, called Enterprise Frontier Safeguards, will be rolled out to users in the fall, allowing clients to control how monitoring for misuse by agents or human users takes place. Anthropic has also assured customers that their data has not been inappropriately accessed, stating that the company has never and will never train on enterprise data without explicit permission.
