Bluesky, the social network, has announced an increase in its video upload limit to 10 minutes, up from the previous three-minute restriction implemented last year. This adjustment enhances the platform’s competitiveness with other text-based services that typically impose shorter video upload durations. Concurrently, Bluesky has raised the maximum file size for uploads to 300MB and reported a 2x-3x improvement in upload speed.
The extended video limit aligns Bluesky with TikTok’s 10-minute video constraint for content recorded directly through the app. Additionally, this change benefits other applications operating on the AT Protocol, which underpins Bluesky, such as Bluescreen, Reelo, and Skylight, enabling them to accommodate longer video content.
